ASC Infection Control Coordinator Training 201

ASC Infection Control Coordinator Training 201

This full-day course focuses on more advanced topics in ASC Infection Control and is a companion to our ASC Infection Control Coordinator Training 101.  The program will provide information on performing the annual IP risk assessment, performing IP investigations and preparing for Surveys.  Particular emphasis is placed on the infection control challenges of our current environment and preparing for more rigorous surveys in the near future.

While Infection Control 101 focused on developing basic skills for an Infection Control Coordinator and how to develop and maintain an Infection Control Plan, this advanced program focuses on more advanced areas of their responsibilities, including a discussion of how to prepare the annual infection control risk assessment, how to conduct an infection investigation, and how to develop surveillance tools and training materials.

Together with Infection Control 101, this advanced course will prepare Infection Control Coordinators to take the Certified Ambulatory Infection Preventionist (CAIP) Exam.  The CAIP Certification is for Infection Control Preventionists with a comprehensive understanding of the skills and knowledge that the role of an ASC infection preventionist requires. To obtain the certification, an individual must meet certain eligibility requirements and achieve a passing score on an examination designed specifically to test the knowledge considered relevant to be an infection preventionist in an ASC.  Click here for more information about CAIP.
